Christmas and a Wedding in July!

Today I was in a Christmas mood and added a wedding card at the request of a co-worker. Not sure she'll like this one but with no inspiration, I really get stuck! So I made this one just to show her something and then maybe she can give me some idea of what else she'd like! ;) The first card is using stamps from the "Tropical Christmas" set from Close to My Heart and "Sunny Season's Greetings" set from SU! on the inside. Card base is SU! Kraft, embossed layer is Bermuda Bay, and the image/sentiment are matted with Pink Passion. Image is colored with Copics.

Next up is the wedding card...I used SU! "Elegant Soiree" DSP, Baja Breeze, and Soft Suede (paper and ink). The butterflies are a SU! Embosslit "Beautiful Wings" and the embossing folder is also SU! (forgot the name but it matches the DSP). The front sentiment is from "Baroque Motifs". For rather "simple" card, it took me forever to put together (I cut 3 different patterned papers before I found one I liked!).

Fun in the Sun x2!

Aloha, everyone! I know much of the mainland is burning up in the heat this summer but I was inspired by all of those beach/fun in the sun challenges for my card(s) this weekend. Same theme for both but different styles kinda. First up is a soft colored beach scene using stamps from a Flourishes set called "Beach Life". The image is colored with copics and the background on the image is done with ink and sponges. The DSP is Bella Blue (Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla). The embossing behind the image is a SU! folder called "Square Lattice". Also got a silver starfish brad and twill ribbon.

The next card is a bright summer card using a CC Designs image "Polka Dot Emma" Her swimsuit and headband are paper pieced with Basic Grey Konnichiwa paper (another pattern from that pack is used on the background too). The rest of her and the backgrounds are colored with copics. The card based in SU! Baja Breeze, which also used for the top layer of wave die cuts with Blue Bayou underneath. The button is also SU! Baja Breeze and tied on with SU! linen thread. The yellow paper is Daffodil Delight from SU! The sentiment is from a little dollar set from Michael's. The cloud and wave dies are from Taylored Expressions. The twill ribbon is from Wally World and the clouds were jazzed up with Diamond Stickles.

Happy pre-4th and for fun!

Happy 4th of July (a little early)! Well, this makes two weekends in a row that I'm posting so maybe I'm back in the groove?!? I hope so because I think it's helping me get sane again! :) Here's a couple of creations plus pictures of the finished insides...of course the challenges I was inspired by are below the pictures.

For the first one I used the SU! "Fourth of July" stamp set, SU! DSP "Big Top Birthday," Taylored Expressions "Seeing Stars" dies, SU! star punches, a shiny star brad, a shiny rhinestone star, and glitter paper. Oh yeah, that ribbon is SU! too! :)

1. 2 Sisters Challenge Blog - Red, White, and Blue plus optional glitter/bling: got a litte of both of the optional
2. 365 Cards - Sparkle and Shine (two techniques/itmes to add sparkle/shine): I have glitter paper for one of the starts, a shiny star brad, and it's hard to tell but I used "platinum"ink for some of the firewords and used a starburst pen to color the "4th" on the sentiment.
3. Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog - bingo: I used "happy", ribbon, and die cut (the stars on the bow are a die cut)

Next up is another creation using a few of my new and old SU! products (thanks, Mom!). This one uses the "Language of Friendship" stamp set, the sentiment is from the "Touch of Nature" set, images were punched out with the bird punch and Boho Blossoms punch, the images are mounted on a die from Apothecary Framelits set and trimmed with the matching piercing template. The paper is an old SU! DSP "Le Jardin". The lace is some from my stash. The images are colored with Prismacolor pencils. Pearls are MS.
