Hula Time!

Had a bit of time this weekend to make a "just for fun" card! I've loved this image from Mo's Digital Pencil for awhile, but this is my first time coloring her up. Her name is Kalei and isn't she just the cutest hula dancer?!? Here's the challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. allsorts challenge blog - homemade flowers: I used my SU! 5 petal flower punch (and the matching 3 flower punch) to make these flowers. Edged them with a copic so they popped a bit more :)
2. Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog - Birthday Card
3. Crafty Sentiments - Spring: the colors and flowers remind me of spring!
4. Crazy 4 Challenges - use flowers
5. Digi Doodle Shop's Best - spots/dots
6. Do you Stack up - anything goes
7. Fairy Fun Friday - Inspired by a song: "Hula girl at heart" by Jimmy Buffett
8. I Did it Creations Challenge - punches/dies
9. Lexi's Creations - flowers
10. Mo’s Challenge - spring colors with handmade flower embellishment + Mo's image
11. One Stop Craft Challenge - spring flowers
12. Paper Cutz Challenge - spring
13. Pixie Dust Studio Pixie Challenge - Vacation time (summer colors and/or elements)
14. Some Odd Girl Challenge blog - at least 1 hand/homemade element/embellie
15. Stampin' B's Design Team - flower

365 Cards - Day 360 - Good News & D2D Shape Up challenge

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at 365 Cards! {Gasp} I just realized this is the last Wednesday of the 365 Cards year! Wow, where did the time go?!? Well, I had so much fun this year and I hope the next one is even more fun...but you know Pam...we never know what's up her sleeve! ;)

So here's my last creation for the year. Pam went easy on me this time and gave us an "Imagine This: challenge. This time it's "Good News"! As with all Imagine This challenges...you can use the words or just be inspired it. I went a little literal on my interpretation...at least on the front!
And I got a little funny on the inside:
I also went a little different and used the Molly image from Guylou's Inimitability Online Store on the inside with the sentiment! Seems like I heard this saying from somewhere but I'm not sure where! And I think it's the best news ever!

Here's the other challenges I was inspired for this one:
1. A Spoon Full of Sugar - Birthday Wishes
2. Cooking It Up With Katie - a little blue, few buttons, some bling
3. Cupcake Craft Challenges - Cake &/or ice cream
4. Flourishes - birthday
5. For Fun Challenges - Happy Birthday
6. Incy Wincy Designs - punches/dies
7. Meljens Design Team and Challenge - happy birthday
8. One Stop Craft Challenge - birthday card + cake
9. Scrap-Creations - birthday cards
10. SEW MANY CHALLENGES - sketch

And lastly here's my creation for the D2D Card Ideas challenge this week. The challenge this week is to "Create any Christmas/Winter card making a SHAPED card (no squares or rectangles allowed)"
I've actually had this idea in my head for awhile and finally got around to creating it! I took Faith's Cocoa image and enlarged it to about 5.5" square. I paper pieced it with Cosmo Cricket paper, punched a hole for the candy cane and tied a tag/ribbons/buttons to the handle! Here's the inside
Pretty simple!
Here's some other challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. Craft Us Crazy - winter
2. digital tuesday challenge - punches: the tag was made from punches
3. Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - Sweet Treats (use something edible on the project): The candy cane and hot chocolate are both edible!
4. I Did it Creations Challenge - Anything goes
5. One Stitch At A Time Challenge - no square cards
6. Pixie Dust Studio Pixie Challenge - don't be square

Well, I hope you had a wonderful year at 365 Cards and I can't wait to see your "good news" and "shape up" cards!

Delightful Saturday!

It's been awhile since I've done a Saturday post and probably even longer since I've done a non-DT post! That's why I love holiday weekends! More time to create! So Faith at Designed2Delight has been cranking out the digis lately and I finally got around to making some things with a couple of them! First up is this week's freebie for those that played along with last week's challenge at Delightful Inspiration. If you didn't get it free, you can pop over to the store, pick it up, and play along to get next week's image for free! What a deal! Anyway, I broke out the Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love" papers for this one, along with some SU! patterned paper (the tree trunk), solids (chocolate chip and very vanilla), and ribbon. The felt is some I picked up my local Ben Franklin Craft store, as are those little buttons. Colored the little birdie with copics. Sentiment is a sticker from SRM. And here's the inside...
Here's the challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. 2 Sisters Challenge Blog - embossing: I embossed the very vanilla with a polka dot pattern
2. allsorts challenge blog - inspired by nature
3. Alota Rubber Stamps - use Nestabilities: the image panel and circle behind it are cut with nestabilities
4. Alphabet Challenge Blog - P for Paper Piecing: I paper pieced a bit on this one...the tree trunk, bird, and grass
5. CES challenges - spots and stripes: got spots embossed on the background panel and on the tree trunk, and stripes on the ribbon!
6. Charisma Cardz Challenges! - Spring has Sprung
7. CREATIVE BELLI BLOG - felt or fabric
8. digital tuesday challenge - die cuts + digi
9. Drunken Stampers - use die cuts
10. Flourishes - 3 patterned papers
11. If The Shoe fits... Scrap It! - happy birthday
12. INKY IMPRESSIONS CHALLENGES - spots and stripes
13. i{heart}2stamp - sketch
14. Paper Issues - Birds, Bees, or Butterflies
15. Really Reasonable Ribbon - Spring + ribbon
16. Scrap-Creations - Spring Fever

My second creation for today is also using one of Faith's images called "Balancing Act". Hum...now that I look at it, I think my birdie's a little off balance! hehe...guess I need to focus better when cutting things out with the nesties! Oh well, just tilt your head and he'll look fine :)
Here's the challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. Bee Crafty - DOWNLOADS - hearts + digi
2. Catch The Bug Challenge Blog - get well: see picture below for this one open, the sentiment is "Hey there, chickadee...hope you're feeling better"
