365 Cards - Day 185 - Shape Up!

As always, welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at 365 Cards!! For today's challenge, Pam wants you to "Shape Up!"...no she doesn't want you to exercise, just "use a polygon, with a minimum of 5 sides as your dominant shape. That means the whole card can be that shape, or it can be a large shape you put on the front of your card, or you can can put several items with that shape on your card." Well, I pondered this one for a while and an octagon seemed to be the easiest shape to make with these requirements! Just knock the corners off a square and viola...octagon! Since we don't have a stamp sponsor this week, I got to bust out my super cute Changito stamps that I got on the mainland back in July. I LOVE these little guys and the school set is perfect for this time of year. Rather than a traditional "back to school" card, I went for a congrats card with a school theme...maybe for doing well on a test or an assignment!

I used some scraps to finish inside.

So here's the other challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. A Crafty Little Place - anything goes
2. Cooking it up with Katie - make it for a boy (boyish), checks/gingham/plaid, touch of brown
3. Cute Card Thursday - Dieing for a punch: I didn't not use any dies or punches on this one!
4. Eat, Sleep, Stamp - sketch: I moved things around a bit but the sketch was my inspiration!
5. Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - Back to school
6. Incy Wincy Designs - Back to School
7. Let’s Ink it Up - ANYTHING GOES with a twist - use the colour yellow somewhere on your project + use a rubber/clear stamp on your project as the focal point
8. Mamidoodles - creative with card shape
9. Paper Cutz Challenge - some type of metal
10. Papertake Weekly Challenge  - Just the one: I've got just one round metal brad on there!
11. S2G challenges - back to school with twist of alphabets/letters
12. Simple Doodles - school time
13. Stamp Something - back to school
14. The Creative Cottage Challenge Blog - celebrations
15. The Shabby Tea Room - Something old, something new: I've had those star brads forEVER and the stamp is new!

Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to see how you get "shaped up!"

Meow for Summer!

I think this might be my last card for summer...who am I kidding, I live in Hawaii...it's always summer! So here's my Saturday creation and the challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. Bee Crafty - anything goes + digi image
2. Charisma Cardz Challenges - HOT HOT HOT!: I think my color scheme fits this :)
3. Crafty Creations Challenges  - 3 patterned papers, 2 ribbons, 1 charm
4. Delightful Inspiration  by Designed 2 Delight Digi Stamps - progressive free image challenge
5. Digi Doodle Shop’s Best - So Distressing: I distressed the edges of all the patterned papers
6. Double Delight Challenge - Summer Colors + D2D image
7. Drunken Stampers - Favourite Summer Song: one of my favorite songs is "Summer Sunshine" by the Corrs, so I was inspired to do a sunshiney color scheme and to you the "miss you" sentiment which is part of the song's lyrics
8. Fab ‘n’ Funky - 3 papers, 2 embellishments, 1 image: well, I interpreted this as 3 "patterned" papers and 2 "types of" embellishements (i.e., buttons and charm)
9. I{heart}2stamp - sketch
10. Papertake Weekly Challenge - 3-2-1: see above
11. Pollycraft Monday Challenge - 3 papers, 2 buttons, and 1 charm
12. Speedy the Cat’s Friends at Mark’s Finest Papers - Friendship

I did finish the inside of this one with a white rectangle with circle border punch at the bottom and strip of the bg paper at the top but I couldn't get a picture of it in focus, sorry!

Thanks for stopping by!

365 Cards - Day 178 - Imagine This: Sugar

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at 365 Cards...well, no "wacky" colors this week, although you all rocked that challenge. This week Pam wants to be inspired by some of the "stuff" she puts in her "special coffee"...she's says it's sugar, but I'm still wondering :) Anyway, this one should be easy peasy...I kept expecting Pam to email and give some qualification to the challenge, like it couldn't be white or something like that...but no, we're free to simply be inspired by sugar! YUM! I used the super cute "Ruby the Clown" image from KLM Digi Stamps...if you don't remember...I LOVE clowns! So to meet the challenge I used this super "sweet" image along with Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper (there are 5 different patterns on there!) and that "sweet" sentiment.
Here's a picture of the inside...left it blank for now...
Here are the other challenges I was inspired by for this creation:
1. BasicGrey Challenges - Fabric + BG item: as I mentioned that BG Sugar Rush PP and that flower is made out of a frayed strip of fabric I had...
2. CardPatterns - sketch
3. CREATIVE BELLI BLOG  - round and metal: got that big red metal brad for the flower center -- I've had it and fabric laying around for awhile too
4. Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge blog - Punch It: used a border punch on the inside
5. Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - Go crazy with Polka Dots...well I got a lot of patterns on this one, but the main background is polka dots as is the paper for the hair
6. Stampin’ for the Weekend  - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to see your "sugar" creations!

Super Saturday Stuff

I love Saturdays...especially when they're the day after a holiday (yesterday was State Admission Day in Hawaii)! Yesterday I had to run some errands and then spent time re-organizing some stuff in my craft room so I didn't get to create anything but today it was on!! Here's the challenges I was inspired for the card above:
1. "Just Us Girls" Challenge - hot pink, teal, lime green: this color combo was inspired by the DeLovely paper form Cosmo Cricket...unfortunately I don't have any of that paper, so I got as close as I could. The colors specifically are SU! Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red and Taken with Teal.
2. A Crafty Little Place - blue, pink, green: I think this color challenge was based on the same paper as above! Great minds think alike this week :)
3. C.R.A.F.T - photo inspiration: The colors in this photo are similar to above but I was also inspired by the round shapes so went for that around the image (which was accomplished by using the inverted scallop nestie with a regular scallop nestie...love it!...my mom thought it looked like pop-beads which I totally agree with!)
4. Charisma Cardz Challenges! - die cuts: got several on here for the image and it's matting
5. Cooking it up with Katie - tie some string/twine, add some water, and finish with a punch: think they're all obvious...the punch was the use for the tag and the photo corners
6. Create4Fun - birthday card
7. Delightful Inspiration by Designed 2 Delight digi stamps - project with this image
8. Double Delight Challenge - ribbon, twine or sting + D2D image: got that and used the optional sketch too!
9. For Fun Challenges  - 1 ribbon, 2 designed papers, 3 embellies: for the last requirement I'm counting the embellies by groups...photo corners, flower brads, and tag
10. If the Shoe Fits… - metal - those flower brads are metal
11. Paper Cutz Challenge - anything goes
12. Paper Playtime - zoo: my little monkey image is taking a break in the swimming pool at the zoo! :)
13. Paper Romance - metal embellishment: see above
14. pile it on - get into shapes (5 cut out shapes): they are=circle, inverted scallop circle scallop circle, photo corners, and squares
15. Res-Q Challenge - "indulge in some "you time" and show what your therapy is!!": my therapy is coloring images which I had so much fun doing on this one!
16. Stamp Something - use something digi: the image is and I printed the sentiment out from the computer too
17. Stampin’ B’s Design Team  - die cut, circle, and flower: got several of each on here!
18. Totally Paper Crafts - summer fun
19. Tuesday Taggers - sea, water, or boats
20. Your Next Stamp - bold, bright, summery colors

Here's the inside of this one...

Here's my second creation to share...don't often use PP as the focus on a card but here I did along with the sentiment.
Here's the challenge inspirations for this one:
1. Color Throwdown - soft sky, chocolate chip, kraft, and certainly celery: Although this PP had a bit more reddish color on it than I wanted, it had all the others so I thought it'd work...plus I wanted those birds!
2. Colour Create Challenge Blog - ivory, duck egg blue and one other color from the inspiration picture: well, I thought this picture matched the color challenge above so well, I through it in too! Got a few more colors than just +1 though...oh well!
3. Craft Your Days Away - with wing: my little birdies have wings!
4. Digi Doodle Shop’s Best - "Anything, I say anything goes!"
5. Etsy inspired challenge - I was inspired by this collage picture from Global Child Collection
6. Everything but the kitchen sink - sketch: I embellished it a bit but I think you can still see the sketch!
7. Fab ‘n’ Funky - flower power
8. Pear Tree Designs - use the words "best wishes"
9. Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Saturdays - kraft: there's a little bit on there...the buttons are, several of the flowers are matted with kraft as is the main image.
10. Twisted sketches - sketch...but just realized I forgot the twist of "staples"...hum...just imagine them there on the inside (picture below)!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have an awesome Sunday and even better week!

365 Cards - Day 171 - Wacky Color Wednesday!

Welcome to another Wonderful, yet "Wacky," Wednesday at 365 Cards!! Pam's hitting the "special coffee" again which means I got a fun color challenge! So what can you do with shades of yellow, brown, and grey?!? Luckily I had this super cute Robyn's Fetish stamp "Over da wall puppy" to work with so my challenge wasn't too challenging! Can you see where I cheated just a bit?!? I'm having so much fun getting practice with my new copic markers...although gotta admit I'm keeping my grey Prismacolor markers until they run out...got a pretty good selection of those. I also love that you can color other things with these markers...the flowers were a brighter yellow so I took my yellow copic and colored them to match a bit better! Anyway, I played with some other new stuff too like the fabulous "square lattice" embossing folder from SU! and that chocolate chip striped ribbon (actually I think this retired but it's new to me!). Thanks to my SU! demonstrators (mom and Momi) for ordering this stuff for me! Mom also gifted me those fun corduroy buttons and they worked perfectly on this card! So here's the other challenges I was inspired by for this card:
1.  Alota Rubber Stamps - Fall colors (red, yellow, brown, orange, green - at least 2)
2. Alphabet Challenge Blog - P for punches: used that super duper cute paw prints border punch!!
3. Anything Goes Challenge - three layers: think I got a few more than this but hopefully more is better!

7. Everybody-Art-Challenge -  in the garden

Well, that's it for this week's challenge! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Happy Harvest and Back 2 School!

Well, I got to play a bit this Saturday so here are the cards I got made...

This card is for the Delightful Inspiration by Designed 2 Delight digi stamps progressive challenge. The challenge this week at Double Delight was to do a CAS card so I used the layout from Clean and Simple. Hard to tell but I also pierced two rows down the right side of the card (allsorts challenge blog). When I see pumpkins I think Thanksgiving and November so this is also for Hand Full of Stamps challenge.

My second card was inspired by all the back to school or school themed challenges (Our Creative Corner, Paper Cutz Challenge, Paper Playtime, S2G challenges (+notebook paper), Scrap Creations – Going Grey Challenge (+Basic Grey paper -- the striped paper is BG), Stampin’ for the Weekend). The easel card fits the Charisma Cardz Challenges. The Doodle Dragon Studio's challenge was to use buttons, stitching, and a decorative edge + a DDS image, and at Sew Many Challenges they also wanted sewing. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. Although it kinds looks like the bear is laying in a bulls eye, I actually tried to create a little scene with his laying on a rug...not sure that quite worked though. This was inspired by Stampin' B's Design Team challenge. Totally Paper Crafts wanted to see a rainbow and that BG paper fits that perfectly!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful week!

365 Cards - Day 164 - Funny Formula

Aloha all and welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at 365 Cards! Today's challenge is a "funny formula" that's pretty easy...make one item on your card have all of the following: flower, pink, glitter, stamp...so basically a pink, glittered stamped flower! :) You can do that!! I popped mine up and used pink stickles for my glitter and pink! Of course, I went with a pink and green color scheme which is one of my favorite (have you figured out what my FAVORITE color is yet?!?). I did a fun side stair step card following this toot. Super easy!!

Here's the other challenges I was inspired by for this card:
1. Alota Rubber Stamps - Distressed card: may be kinda hard to tell but I distressed the image, sentiment, and green panels
2. Alphabet Challenge Blog - O for Ovals
3. Anything Goes Challenge - folds
4. BasicGrey Challenges - pearls + Basic Grey item: my pearls are Basic Grey!
5. CardPatterns - sketch: well, it's very loosely based on the sketch...creative interpretation, right?!?
6. Craft Your Days Away - favourite things: well, here's the answer to my color question...PINK!!
7. Craftalicious Challenges - make your own flowers: I used a nestie dies to cut the flowers out of felt and added the glittered brads for centers...also sponged on some pink ink
8. Creative Card Crew - Cute and Girly
9. Delightful Sketches & Challenges - distressing
10. Die-cut Dreams Challenge Blog - fabric: I'm counting felt as my fabric
11. Drunken Stampers - masking: I used the oval nestie to mask the edge of the image panel while sponging in the pink ink
12. Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge: anything goes
13. Raise the Bar - Pearly Whites
14. Rosie D’s - more than one fold
15. Speedy the Cat’s Friends at Mark’s Finest Papers - make your own embellies
16. Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog - Pretty in Pink
17. The Pixie Cottage  - sketch and/or fancy fold: I did the second

That's it for now...can't wait to see what you come up with using this funny formula!

BTW, if you haven't already checked it out, I have a blogiversary scavenger hunt going on...check it out here. Come play along!

365 Cards - Day 157 - Card Recipe 3

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at 365 Cards!! This week Pam is challenging us with a slightly different card recipe every day (sounds like she cooks like my mom, the recipe is a bit different every time! hehe, love ya, mom!!). Here's the recipe for today:

4.25x5.5 Card
2 3x3 patterned papers
3 rhinestones
Sentiment
1 stamped image
2 Buttons

This was a bit of a challenge for me as I kept wanting to add things (like ribbon) but other than the embossing on the card base I stayed pretty true to the recipe. I even almost fooled Pam into thinking I broke the rules and only used two rhinestones, but no...I was a good girl and got all three on there...can you find them all?

Here's a few other challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. C.R.A.F.T - Hot & Spicy color inspiration
2. City Crafter Challenge - Yum (food inspired)
3. Colour Create Challenge Blog - hot pink, warm orange, and saffron
4. Crafty Ann - Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer
5. The Pink Elephant - Something Yummy

Can't wait to see what you come up with!
