Couple of mid-week creations

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE TMITA/PCC CHALLENGE,
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO THE NEXT POST! THANKS!

This is a card that I created for my boss on Sunday evening, using a Karen's Doodles image. It reminded me of my puppy and since my boss has my puppy's almost identical sister, I thought this was appropriate! Plus, both of them are known for ripping the stuffing out of their toys. :) Paper is SU! and the sentiment was computer-generated. Layout was inspired by this week's Get Sketchy challenge

Then next one was created for Mo's Digital Challenge Blog:
Here's the challenge "Use white or cream cardstock, your image from Mo's Digital Pencil, and one ribbon.. it's that simple... and, no additional layers!". I kept to that but I did emboss around the image, but since some of the DT had scored lines on theirs I figured it was okay. Colors for this one were inspired by Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge (white, ballet blue, night of navy, old olive, kraft). Except for the old olive ribbon, I used all the other colors in coloring the image (hard tell to but the stripes on the shirt and the socks are the ballet blue color, everything else is pretty obvious). Also submitting this one to this week's Cupcake Craft Challenges which was "friends". [I don't know about you but my puppy is never more my friend than when she thinks I have something for her to eat :)] I was also inspired by the Fab 'n Funky challenge of "It's Childish", Humble Pie (use only one type of embellishment), Incy Wincy Designs (add some texture), Lexi's Creations (anything goes), and Sophisti-cat (embossing).

Thanks for coming by and hope to hear from you soon!

Magical Monday - Distressed Lucky Bear

Here's sending a big welcome to another edition of Magial Monday at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes. It was so great seeing all of your creations last week and I can't wait to see what you do with this week's image by Nina and fun challenge by Nilla of "distressing"!! As you can see I distressed several of the layers on my card front and even crumpled up the punched flowers to make them look distressed too! While not on purpose, I think my Fun Flock covered bear also looks a bit "distressed" as I just couldn't get his fur on evenly...UGH! Oh well, looks kinda like the teddy bear I had growing up with it's worn out places of fur :) Kind of a fun embellishment in the balloon. I erased the shamrock balloon that Nina had drawn and instead added this fun shamrock layered sticker. Oh and here's the inside! I tried the Pop-Up Twirl Card at SCS which required some modification as I wanted to make mine square and I had trouble with the buttons on the end of the skewer. So I hammered and glued some snap eyelets onto the ends and it's worked pretty well so far.
Since I was kinda doing this one at the last moment I was inspired by many other challenges and here they are:
1. A Spoon Full of Sugar - Springtime: When I think of St. Patty's Day I think of SPRING!
2. Challenge up your Life - Sketch plus colour combo of green & yellow
4. Die-cut Dreams Challenge Blog - 3 x Different patterned papers, 2 x different ribbons, 2 x flowers: OK I used 3 flowers, but pretty close...
5. Incy Wincy Designs - PUNCH IT OUT: Those flowers are a punch and the sentiment on the front is punched and layered with punches
6. Lexi’s Creations - Spotted or striped: Got both of these in my DSP
7. Little Paper Shop - distressing
8. Lots To Do - Use a machine: I used a sewing machine and cuttlebug
9. My Time to Craft challenge - Green plus one: My plus one was yellow (but had to throw in a couple of neutrals with the white and kraft too!)
10. Paper Sundaes - distress your cards or altered paper project
11. Papertake Weekly Challenge - Check This Out - gingham or checks: one of my DSP (the green one) has a grid pattern that I thought looked like checks
12. Saturday Spotlight - Mess Around (distressing with ink, tearing edges, wrinkling card stock, etc)
14. Stamp Something - A Touch of Spring: My interpretation is the colors and image
15. Stamp with fun - Stitch
16. The Pink Elephant - Ribbon
17. Your Next Stamp - Spring Colours: green and yellow
Thanks for coming by and checking out my creation! Hope to see what you come up with too!

Magical Monday - Pick any image!

Aloha and E Komo Mai to another fabulous edition of Magical Monday at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes! This week's challenge is a bit different as you are to use any of Nina's images that you have or the one posted this week for free and use it with Selma's challenge of "Lace & Circle" (use lace (either paper punched or real) and a circle (the main image and/or greeting stamped in a circle)). Here's mine...
I actually combined two of Nina's images from her store, Shamrock Latte and Polka Dot Tea Pot, creating this little table scene! And then I combined Selma's challenge elements into one round paper lace doily! The images are colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The "table" is sponged with soft suede ink. The layout for this card is from the Little Paper Shop and I thought it kinda looked like a table. :) And here's the evidence of my meeting my goal of finishing the insides too...

Thanks for stopping by again this week and can't wait to see what you all come up with! And here's what you could win in the random drawing

Last Valentine?

Well, I think this will be it for me until next year for the Valentine's Day creations. I love Valentine's day, but I'm ready for some other challenges! This one uses the free digi from The Greeting Farm that's available until Sunday, February 14th. Hurry so you can get it too! Patterned paper is SU! Candy Lane. I kinda combined two toots at SCS on a Flap Card and Peek-a-boo Treat Holder to make this one. Here's pics of the inside...

So here's the other challenges that this one will also be submitted for:
1. 365 Cards Day 345 - Ad inspired: I used the colors of the treats in the picture found at the blogsite
2. A Spoon Full of Sugar #90 - Recipe (1 pattern paper,1 Embossing,1 Button,1 Ribbon): I think you can see most of them, the only that might need explanation is the embossing. That "with love" sentiment on the inside is embossed and brushed with a chocolate ink to help it pop.
3. Allsorts challenge blog #39 - 3, 2, 1 (3 of something, 2 of something else and 1 of another thing on your project): got 3 eyelets, 2 ribbons/tape, 1 button
4. Bee Crafty #24- real or pretend (faux) stitching / sewing, it must also include a DIGI IMAGE: just like my real sewing my faux sewing is also crooked! :)
5. C.R.A.F.T #37 - digi colouring: I used Prismacolor Marker to color this digi
6. Colour Create Challenge Blog #38 - RED, WHITE/OFFWHITE, CHOCOLATE and PINK. The optional extra, is SILVER and HEARTS: I actually got all of these in this one (the ribbon on the image is colored silver and the critter is holding a heart!)

8. Crazy 4 Challenges #24 - RED
9. Cute Card Thursday #99 - In the Name of Love

10. Dare You to Digi Stamp Friday #31 - punches+digi: I kinda stretched this one...my punch is the word window punch that I used to cut out the place for the candy...sorry couldn't get a good pic of it...
11. Daring Cardmakers - Have a Heart
12. Die Cuts R Us Design Team #25 - LOVE
13. digital tuesday challenge #45 - It's all about the Animals" (Anything works as long as there is an animal somewhere on your project + digi)

The stamps are from SU! "God's Beauty". That lovely crochet flower is from my fabulous dear mother (I've already ordered more! Thanks Mom!!). And here's the inside:

But don't worry, my Magical Monday post will be up on Monday in my absence. Have fun and if you're getting slammed by cold and snow, stay WARM!!

Magical Monday - Flight of the Fuschia

E Komo Mai and Aloha to another Magical Monday challenge at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes. Today's challenge is set by my hometown mate, Patti J Gilliam!! She's asked us to use Nina's Flight of the Fuschia image to make a "comforting card" with pearls and/or flourishes. Well, why I love the challenge, I had a hard time getting this card to the point that I liked it...and I'm still not quite there! Tried to make my bird look like a bluebird (that's in honor of Patti as it's the state bird of Missouri!). Tried to get the flourishes through the papers, but can't see much of them...oh well! Those are black pearls on the corners (you only see three as I missed up the corner that covered...). Here's the inside...
I'll also submit this to ABC Challenge - O is for Oval. Thanks for coming by again and I hope you're able to join in the challenge this week! I love coming by and seeing what you come up with!

Two more valentines...

This last week was spent catching up on stuff for my "real" job so I was super excited to get to play this weekend!!! I started out thinking I wasn't going to do another Valentine's Day card, but after looking through a number of challenges, it seemed that was the way to go!!! I recently found this blog (Free Digital Stamps) by the owner of Stretch 'n Bubbles. Through there I found the image above (see link below directly to it). My mojo was still flowing after completing this one so I did another to enter into the monthly Mojo challenge prize drawing. Here it is...
So this one is for those that wanted a "non-traditional" valentine's! I think I'll give it to my dad since he's such  handy guy! :) So here's where else this one will go to:
1.  2RedBananas - Behind the Scenes (create your own stamped background): the tools are stamped randomly to make the background
2.  365 Cards Day 342 - That's familiar (use full image on front and partial on inside): see pic below to see how I used part of the tape measure...
3.  Catch the Bug - Create an item that uses non-traditional valentine colors (no pink/red)
4.  Crafty Ann - metallic
5.  La-La Land Crafts Blog - Use hearts: I stamped those little bitty hearts around the scallop circle... :)
6.  Lots To Do - Backgrounds (do what you like...): see #1
7.  Mojo Monday - #125 (sketch)
8.  One stop Craft challenge - Apple Green, Chocolate and Clotted Cream

10.   Raise the Bar - Heart to Heart Talk
11.   Saturday Spotlight - "teeny tiny": hope those itty bitty hearts count :)

And here's the inside of this one...

Whew...this is getting out of hand...gotta get back to doing one or two challenges per card! At least it makes for quicker posts! hehe! Well, that's it for now!

Magical Monday - I Heart You!

Aloha and welcome to Magical Monday at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes. Today's challenge is using Nina's adorable "I Heart You" image and Sue's challenge of a "Valetine Gift Tag with Stitching (can be with thread or also can be hand drawn)".

Well, another one of my resolutions this year was to get out the fantastic sewing machine that my parents bought for me YEARS ago (and rarely gets used) and USE it for stitching on cards! GASP, I know such a unqiue idea (that's sarcasm, btw)!! I've been seeing sewing on cards for awhile and everywhere so wanted to try it too. Sue's challenge helped me continue to meet another goal for myself this year! Thanks Sue!!! :)

No fancy coloring for this one...paper pieced with another fab red bow (I think that makes three weeks in a row for red bows on my projects...hum...may have to remake the one for next week to keep that theme going!) hehe! And kinda keeping with my personal challenge of finishing the inside of cards...I also finished the back of this tag and here's a pic of that:

And look what you could win for playing along with us this week!!
Last, but not least, a big E Komo Mai (Welcome) to Linda Payne TMITA/PCC Guest Designer for the month of February. Linda was the lucky winner of the blog hop back in December and now we get a whole month of her fabulous creations! Welcome, Linda!

In addition to Nina's great image and Sue's awesome challenge I'm also submitting this to the following challenges:
~ Bee Crafty #23 - Romance/Love theme
~ Challenge up your life #13 - Valentines with hearts
~ C.R.A.F.T challenge #35 - Paper Piecing
~ Dare you to digi stamp #30 - hearts/valentines + digi
~ Inky Impressions challenge #28 - red/pink and hearts

TFL!!  And here's hoping you have another magical week!
