Aloha and welcome to Magical Monday at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes. Today's challenge is using Nina's adorable "I Heart You" image and Sue's challenge of a "Valetine Gift Tag with Stitching (can be with thread or also can be hand drawn)".
Well, another one of my resolutions this year was to get out the fantastic sewing machine that my parents bought for me YEARS ago (and rarely gets used) and USE it for stitching on cards! GASP, I know such a unqiue idea (that's sarcasm, btw)!! I've been seeing sewing on cards for awhile and everywhere so wanted to try it too. Sue's challenge helped me continue to meet another goal for myself this year! Thanks Sue!!! :)
No fancy coloring for this one...paper pieced with another fab red bow (I think that makes three weeks in a row for red bows on my projects...hum...may have to remake the one for next week to keep that theme going!) hehe! And kinda keeping with my personal challenge of finishing the inside of cards...I also finished the back of this tag and here's a pic of that:
And look what you could win for playing along with us this week!!
Last, but not least, a big E Komo Mai (Welcome) to Linda Payne TMITA/PCC Guest Designer for the month of February. Linda was the lucky winner of the blog hop back in December and now we get a whole month of her fabulous creations! Welcome, Linda!
In addition to Nina's great image and Sue's awesome challenge I'm also submitting this to the following challenges:
~ Bee Crafty #23 - Romance/Love theme
~ Challenge up your life #13 - Valentines with hearts
~ C.R.A.F.T challenge #35 - Paper Piecing
~ Dare you to digi stamp #30 - hearts/valentines + digi
~ Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge #3 - hearts
~ Inky Impressions challenge #28 - red/pink and hearts
~ Magical Crafts Fortnightly #7 - Valentines
~ Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #68 - Hearts
~ The Pixie Cottage #8 - red/pink
TFL!! And here's hoping you have another magical week!

Oh so sweet! Love your stitching.... now you have to leave your sewing machine out so you'll use it again!!!
Good work completing the back too!
Awww, so cute! Love the red bow!
Perfect, love all the bear, papers and stitching! Hugs Nilla
What an adorable tag, Kim! So glad that you drug out the sewing machine to make it! I love that you even finished the "inside" (back) of your tag! Look at you go girl! You are an inspiration to me with all of your goals!!! Great tag! Hugs!
Cute paper pieced bear Kim. I like that you tied the bow around his neck. Your stitching is beautiful. I'll be watching for more cards with sewing on them now that you have your machine out!
Kim, this is just serious adorable! Great stitching, btw!
Beautiful gift tag Kim! The heart paper is so sweet and your stitching is just fab! I love how you finished off the other side - great job!
Hugs, Danielle
Well everyone, that one tag cost over #300. plus shipping to Hawaii! But I am encouraged now that Kim has her sewing machine out that it will be used for other things beside card making! FYI - I was Kim's enabler because I did all the sewing while she was growing up, wait, she took sewing when she belonged to 4-H, oh, maybe that was my choice not hers?!?!? LOL.
I'm feeling better now, so I can comment on the her tag! Love it and that you finished the back is awesome, you sure are setting that bar high and I want to thank you for that!
Congrats on all your wins lately, you are an artist! Have you thought about selling your cards at craft fairs?
Love, SAM aka MOM
