365 Cards - Day 213 - The 3 B's & blog hop fun!!

Aloooooha and E Komo Mai to another wonderful Wednesday challenge at 365 Cards!! Today's challenge is "The 3 B's - Boy, Black, and Button". I got to use the super adorable "Surfin' Oliver" stamp from Sparkle Creations and boy did I have fun coloring him!! I'm still in a summer mood (actually it's been kinda warm here in Hawaii, so that's easy to do!) so I went all tropical on this one. Did some more sponging of the background as I did on last week's card too! LOVE IT! So here's the inside:
And here's the other challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. C.R.A.F.T. - Teenagers
2. Incy Wincy Designs - Anything Goes
3. Let's Ink it Up - use your favorite stamp + a charm: I've had that "surf's up" charm for awhile and so glad to find a great place to use it!
4. One Stitch at a Time - anything goes
5. Paper Playtime - Listen to the Rhythm of the falling rain: well I've got water in the background of the image!
6. pile it on - cute and charming
7. Sunday Sketch and Stamp - sketch
8. The Corrosive Challenge Blog - masking: I masked the image to sponge in the background

Here's an added bonus for today! As you probably know Saturday is World Card Making Day and there is a fabulous blog hop going on at CDAC with some wonderful prizes! And as a new DT member for Delightful Inspiration blog for Designed 2 Delight Digi Stamps I have created a special project for one of the challenges at our CDAC group. I used the Freebie that Faith posted on CDAC on Saturday and made a small box from a template I got from My Time Made Easy (find it here).
I added the "where you're planted" part to the sentiment...it just fit as I made this a box to give packets of seeds!
Super easy and quick to make! Hope you hop on by on Saturday for the blog hop and all the fun at CDAC! See you then!

365 Cards - Day 206 - Winter Wonderland

Alooooooooha and E Komo Mai (welcome) to another wonderful Wednesday at 365 Cards!! Today's challenge is to create a Winter Wonderland scene. Well, it's been several years since I've seen a "traditional" winter wonderland scene in person so I went with something that I'm more likely to see here in Hawaii! And as I tell my dad almost every time it snows in Missouri..."No, I don't miss it." :0) For today's card, I used the "I'm melting for you" image from Robyn's Fetish and digitally combined it with the palm tree stamp from SU! old "Sunny Season's Greeting" set. To combine the two stamps, I stamps the rubber stamp on a piece of paper, scanned it into my computer, cleaned it up a bit in the Paint program, and flipped one to make a mirror image. I did this both to combine the images easily (no masking) and to change the size of the palm trees as I needed them to be a bit smaller to fit on the 4.25x5.5 card. The images were then printed out and colored with copics. I did mask the image in order to sponge the sand, sea, and sky. Glassy accents were added to the lights to mask them for the coloring of the background.

Here's the inside:
I used a bit of some fab digi paper also from Robyn's Fetish for the background paper on the front as well as the top of the inside. Here's the other challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. A Spoon Full of Sugar - Anything goes
2.  Catch the Bug - create a card for OWH: that's why I needed it to be 4.25x5.5...hopefully I'll get in the mail to them soon!
3. Creative Inspirations Challenge - 2 or more stamped images: hope digital images are acceptable :)
4. Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - celebration cards: celebrating the upcoming holiday season
5. Paper Romance - birthday/Christmas card for OWH
6. Stamp Something - use a digi
7. Taylored Expressions - sketch
8. The Corrosive Challenge Blog!! - been awhile since I used the palm tree stamp
9. The Pink Elephant - recipe: color aqua, designer paper, and embellie of choice: got a bit of aqua in the water :)
10. Treehouse Thursday Challenge- sponged background

Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to see all your winter wonderland scenes!

Scaredy Cat or Cutey Cat?!?

Well didn't get to play as much this weekend...catching up on some DT stuff so here's the one other card I got done this weekend. I love playing with Faith's images from Designed 2 Delight Digi stamps (with Delightful Inspiration). This week was this super cute kitty cat and pumpkin which just needed to be made into a Halloween card! Did the layout a bit differently made the spiderweb panel the card and the spider paper is just a flat square. Here's a picture of it opened...
Here's the other challenges I was inspired by for this one:
1. ABC challenge - D is for distressing
2. BasicGrey Challenges  - sketch + one BG item (the pp)
3. Challenge up your Life - Old MacDonald had a farm: the kitty and pumpkin live on the farm!
4. Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges - Keep it simple (one embellie + digi image): just got those fabulous black rhinestones as embellies on this one...
5. Delightful Challenges - Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere
6. Paper Pretties - use pearls, rhinestones, or glitter dots
7. Paper Sundaes - Fall or Halloween colors
8. Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - Fur or Feather (use an animal on your card)
9. Scrap Creations – Going Grey Challenge: gotta go digi

Thanks for stopping by and here's hoping you have a wonderful week (oh yeah, stop on back by on Wednesday for my 365 Card...it's kinda funny!)

365 Cards - Day 199 - I believe in you

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at 365 Cards! Today's challenge is a bit sentimental as Pam wants to see "a card of hope and encouragement and include a poem or quotation that reinforces that." Well, I had these fabulous DRS Design stamps to play with so I just had a to find a quote I liked to reinforce the quotation...and leave it to Winnie-the-Pooh to have the answer for me. I love that bear!!

Actually this is a quote from Christopher Robin to Pooh but I think it fits so many situations. I went a little bit bold on the style of this card, but it's always fun to push one's personal boundaries! I colored the stem, leaves and butterflies on the main image in gray tones as I wanted the pink flower and sentiment butterflies to pop (whadda think mom? got enough butterflies on this one?!?) Here's the other challenges I was inspired by for this one:

1. CardPatterns - Sketch
2. Drunken Stampers - going round and round (use circles)
3. Etsy inspired challenge - Handmade Whimsy shop: I was inspired by this sachet
4. Fairy Fun Fridays - embossing wet or dry: I've got both on here...the butterflies are wet embossed and the main image panel is dry embossed on the edge
5. Flutter By Wednesday's - pink + butterfly, fairy or angel: I missed this one but I was still inspired by it!
6. Frosted Designs - use a quote
7. Paper Pretties - brads/eyelets: hard to see but I have heart brads in the lower right corner
8. Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - In between the newsprint (use black/white + one other color)
9. Simple Doodles - Spots and Dots
10. The Townscrapper - 1 cardstock color, 2 patterned paper, 3 types of embellishments, 1 stamped image, 2 ribbons
11. Totally Paper Crafts - let's go dotty

Thanks again for stopping by and can't wait to see what quote/sentiment you use for encouragement!
Aloha,
