365 Cards - Day 191 & A couple D2D samples

Well, I think Pam is back on her "special coffee" if today's challenge at 365 Cards is any indicator!! So today she wants to see us make a card that is in a style "opposite" of what we typically do...that is "So not me!":...hum...I had to think about this one...I really don't see me having a "style" I just do what I like but I guess in looking at the cards I've done lately, I'm really into cutesy but usually clean cards with Copic colored images...well, mostly but not always! So my opposite is a vintagey collage type. UGH! I'm not in love with what I came up with but I really tried to not leave a blank spot on this card! Oh well, that's why it's called a "challenge!" Most of the images are from a CD of vintage images and I added a bit of rubber stamping here and there. There a tag in the middle and the key charm was just for fun.
Here's some other challenges this one fits:
1. Aly's Sunday Challenge - bows
2. Anything Goes Challenge Blog - vintage/shabby chic
3. Craft your passion challenges - anything goes with flowers
4. Creative Inspirations Challenge - set 3 (vintage, ribbon, flowers)
5. fun with shapes and more - what you want (+ something punched/cut): the large heart, the tag and the small image on the left middle were all punched out
6. Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog - vintage
7. Cute Card Thursday - a pinch and a punch

Next up are two cards for Delightful Inspiration/D2D. First is a "just for fun card" and it's my version of Harry Potter using Faith's Abracadabra image.

I erased the puppy and the sparkles from the wand in Paint and then colored him to death with Copics! I love how his hair turned out (check out Jen's site for a tutorial and some inspiration on coloring realistic hair)!! The frames of the eyeglass lenses were made with hole punches and then I drew in the connecting lines. The sentiment is a line from one of the books/movies and I thought it was perfect for a Halloween card! Of course, had to bling him up a bit with rhinestones coming out of his wand! The patterned papers are SU! Cast-a-Spell and the mustard yellow panel is embossed with a spiderweb folder.
Here's some other challenges for this one:
1. Alota Rubber Stamps - green, yellow, orange: well I had to throw in a bit of some other colors but it's mostly the green/orange/(mustard) yellow
2. Card Makin’ Mamas - digital
3. Catch The Bug Challenge Blog - anything goes
4. Craft Us Crazy - autumn colors
5. Crafty Sentiments - Halloween
6. Delightful challenges - Halloween
7. Digi Doodle Shop 's Best - Fantasy/Fairytale: HP is a bit of a fantasy to me!
8. Fairy Fun Friday - inspired by a book: Hello? Harry Potter?!? The books are soooo much better than the movies, IMHO
9. i{heart}2stamp - sketch
10. Speedy the Cat’s Friends Challenge - bring on the bling
11. Stamp Something  - digi day
12. Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog - anything except a birthday card

Lastly is my sample for this week's progressive challenge at D2D. I combined the freebie "Falloween Cat" with the recently released, "Puppy Magic." It just looks like these two friends are so cute, I just imagine they are up to no good, hence the sentiment! :)
As almost always, the images are colored with Copics and there's a bit of dry embossing on the orange layer. And other than the fun spiderweb ribbon, it's pretty simple! Here's some other challenges for this one:
1. 2 Sisters Challenge Blog - friends
2. BasicGrey Challenges - celebrations: the patterned paper is from the Eerie pad and we're celebrating Halloween for this one!
3. Bee Crafty - dramatic borders and frames: I thought this super big scallop/hole border punch was pretty dramatic!
4. Crafty Creations Challenges - anything but a square: this card is 9.25x4"
5. Do you Stack up - Friendly Critters
6. One Stitch At A Time Challenge  - use a digi
7. Papertake Weekly Challenge - anything goes
8. Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog - let's emboss
9. Sketches by Carly - sketch: I did move the ribbon element to fit better with my image layout...
10. Stamp-n-doodle - anything goes
11. The Crazy Challenge - spots and/or stripes

Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to see what you come up with!
Aloha,

How exciting to wake up sooo early this Wednesday morning, uhm, night, and see 3 terrific cards! Can't even begin to pick my favorite they are all so tantalizing! The collage is definitely out of the box for you and is very beautiful! Harry is cuter than the real Harry. And now that I see the friends card(cat and dog) I think you should get a cat instead of another puppy to keep Malie company while you're at work! That being said, can't wait till next Wednesday to see your new creations!

Love, SAM aka MOM
