So on to another wonderful CHALLENGE Wednesday at 365 Cards (maybe we should call them all "Wacky Wednesdays!"...hehe...lately we've all been joking about Pam and her "special coffee" that she drinks when coming up with some of these challenges and for the longest time I didn't get it, but whoa boy, I'm feeling the afterburn of that coffee lately!)
This week Pam asked for an acrostic poem...gotta admit...did not know what this was but after a little research I remembered doing them in school and had no idea that's what they were called (or at least I didn't remember that's what they were!). So after some thought about what I could write about and considering another Mother's Day card to make my mom cry, I decided to create one based on my puppy. (I think this will be my mom's "grandmother's day" card, afterall this is her "grandpuppy" And yes, I'm one of THOSE kind of dog people!). It was totally easy for me to write, although I did have to put some thought into the "I" word. Of course, moments after I finished this the other night, my wonderful puppy peed on my bed!!! AAARG!!! I wasn't experiencing "much happiness" towards her then and I almost trashed the card then, but we "talked" it out and all was forgiven so here it is.
Here's the other challenges for this one:
1. BasicGrey Challenges - sketch + sugar rush paper
2. Cooking it up with Katie - Use something New (those chipboard letters are new), Use something Old (I've had that "princess" charm for years), Use something Sweet (I think this picture of Malie is so sweet it makes my teeth ache!)
3. Incy Wincy Designs - Fancy Folds: easel card
4. No Time to Stamp - Chipboard: the glitter letters are chipboard
5. pile it on - Easel card
6. Pollycraft Monday Challenge - anything goes
7. Scrap Creations - Sew cute: I think this whole thing is pretty cute, but especially the puppy pic! + sugar rush paper
8. SophistiCat Challenge Blog - Raining cats and dogs
9. The Townscrapper - charms
10. Totally Stampalicious - easel card
So whatcha gonna do for this one? It doesn't have to be complicated and here's one that I found that even explains what it is!
Acrostics
are playful
contrivances of prose or verse
rendered so that each line
opens or closes with words in
sequence to read from
top to bottom, their
initial or final letters
constituting a word or phrase.
(Ned Halley, Dictionary of Modern English Grammar. Wordsworth, 2005)
I wish you all good luck in meeting this challenge and can't wait ot see what you come up with!
Aloha,

Hi Kim, I just noticed on your clock that it's 10pm your time, it's 9am here! Wow what a difference! Your card is adorable! I love the mix of paper, the cute photo and the cute little bone embellishments, it's so sweet! Hope your bed is ok now :)
This is just darling!
Awe Kim, you brought a tear to my eye again! My gran-puppy is just so darn cute! Actually, she gets the puppy dog eyes from you - oh yes she does - saw those everytime you wanted something. That look melted all of your grandparents hearts, but I caught on pretty quick. Oh wait, you still use it on me!??!? Give Malie a treat and she'll kiss you!
Have a great day girls!
Love, SAM aka MOM
