"vintage" chalkboard

Day 178 - Back to School
Okay, I titled this "vintage" as I just saw that on 365 Cards but this is not my submission for the vintage challenge. :) As I was making this for the Back to School challenge, I was thinking that most of the classroom that I go into nowadays have whiteboards and not the chalkboards like they did when I went to school (man, I sound like my mom when I say something like that!). Anyway, I used a white pigment ink to stamp on the "chalkboard" but it wasn't bold enough so I traced over the letters/numbers/picture with a white gel pen so they popped. The frame is my take on the "faux wood frame" toot from SCS. I mounted it on a sky blue card base as I recall many of my classrooms were in this color too! I think this would be a neat card for a principal to give his/her teachers...or maybe next year I'll send it to my mom (Stamping by SAM)! She'll forget it by then anyway ;)

Oh, I thinks' I can remember this card! It's awesome! I like how you cuttlebugged the faux wood frame, really sets it off! Like the twill ribbon too, it would look good on sewing theme card. Ya know, I'm a seamtress too - do you remember all the sewing I have done for you? Good luck today, talk to you tonight. Love, SAM aka MOM

Hahaha, guess a 'real' chalkboard really is a vintage item now! I can't think of any chalkboards in our district anymore... Great card Kim - I love that wood frame, and putting it through your CB really made it pop! Looks wonderful! Great job on the challenge...
