365 Cards - Day 59 - Moving Parts

Well, I hope you all are ready for another one of Pam's challenging challenges at 365 Cards. For today's challenge you need to have a "moving part" on your card. I got to use the adorable crab image from Digital Delights so my challenge was fairly easy! Just had to print off the image twice and use one for the legs only. Of course, I actually ended up printing the image several time to get the legs long enough to attach (kept cutting them off at the body!! UGH!). Anyway, the front is supposed to look like a submarine and you're looking through the porthole. Then you open and you get to the see the crab in action wishing you a "snappy birthday!"
I used the "Tilt card" toot at SCS to get the body of the crab to move and then you can really see those legs a-dancing! I made the sign for the crab to hold in Word, colored the crab with Prismacolor Markers, cut the seaweed from the Life's a Beach Cricut cartridge, and tore a piece of sandpaper for the ocean floor! Once I got the crab figured out it went together pretty quickly.

So here are the other challenge inspirations for this one:
1. Bee Crafty - Whole lotta fun (want to see holes and a digi image)
2. Crafty Angels - Summer: anything beachy is summery to me!
3. Kaboodle Doodles - embossing
4. One stop Craft challenge - metallic
5. Quixotic Challenges - Make a splash (project featuring water as a them in some way)
6. Sew Many Challenges - Anything goes
7. SophistiCat Challenge Blog - Card for a child
8. The Crazy Challenge - buttons, brads, or eyelets

One last thing, my fellow DT member Amy Tsuruta posted something interesting on her blog yesterday and I thought it was great! I too have problems actually sending the cards I make (much better at giving them to friends nearby, but just can't seem to get those that need to be mailed into the mail in a timely manner!) So here's the idea:

♥♥Pay It Forward for Creative People♥♥

I hereby promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment that they want to participate in the PIF challenge. In turn, they promise to post this and send something they made to the first 5 posters on their blog. I promise that your items will be received before the end of June 2010.

Will you join us in the fun?

Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to see what you get "moving" on your creations!
Aloha,
